This is how I stay healthy!
Quercetin or Quinine has been used for thousands of years.
It is flavonoids or polyphenols and is a particular class of antioxidant compounds. Eating a diet rich in fruits, especially vegetables, can go a long way toward keeping you healthy. Quercetin may assist and support the body in dealing with viral infections.
Quinine uses include analgesic, anesthetic, anti-arrhythmic, antibacterial, antimalarial, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antipyretic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, bactericide, cytotoxic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, and nervine.
It is also recommended to take zinc which aids the cells for rapid healing.
Your final liquid can be stored in the fridge or freezer and will last a few weeks in the refrigerator or in the freezer, lasting a few months.
I make my Quinine from limes. You can use lemons or grapefruits.
After a large gathering or event, I take 4 ounces once for preventative. For regular daily use, I take 1 tablespoon daily. I take 1 tablespoon every couple of hours during the beginning of any symptoms. I discontinue as soon as I feel better.
I am not a doctor and use these remedies for myself and my family. Higher concentrations of grapefruit are blood thinner, so be careful if you add more grapefruit peel or whole fruit. Speak to your physician before use. Not suitable for people on blood-thinning medications
How to do this:
First, rinse the limes and soak them in 4 cups of warm water and 2 teaspoons of baking soda for at least 15 minutes. This will remove the wax and pesticides.
Heat 4 cups of water in a stainless pot with a well-fitting lid. Bring to a rapid boil.
Cut 5 limes. I like to cut each lime into small pieces. You can boil just the peels or the entire fruit. I personally prefer the whole fruit.
I will show you how to peel a section.
Place the lime pieces into the boiling water and turn the heat on simmer. Simmer the limes with the lid on for 4 hours. Never remove the cover.
Let the lime water sit and cool overnight without removing the lid. Or you can wait 8 additional hours during the day.
Strain the liquid into a mason jar. There will be just enough for another glass. Squeeze the fruit to get all the last juice and place and set aside, ready to consume. This will be enough for two if you take 4 ounces each.
You can add some raw honey for taste. It should easily keep for 1-2 weeks in the fridge. I have 2-4 Tablespoonfuls daily. Cut this in half for kids.
