Sara Olalla Saad, PhD, University of Campinas & Hemocentro – Unicamp, Campinas, Brazil, discusses nuclear factor-erythroid 2 related factor (NRF2), which is persistently activated in many human tumors, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML). She highlights how the natural polyphenolic flavonoid coumpound quercetin can target this protein and induce apoptosis, a potential therapetic strategy.
